Computing
A high-quality computing education equips children to understand and change the world through logical thinking and creativity, including making links with design technology. Through our Computing curriculum, we aim to give our children the necessary life-skills to enable them to use new technology in a socially responsible and safe way to operate in the 21st century workplace. As technologies advance, it is our responsibility to ensure our children are up-to-date and active participants in the digital world.
Meridian Innovators Competition
Meridian Innovators is an exciting competition for KS2 children designed to challenge and inspire children to create innovative technology solutions to real-world problems. Participating teams are given a theme — for example, Eco-Technology or Wearable Technology — and asked to design or adapt a device or machine that helps solve a specific problem.
Now in its third year, the competition runs twice annually (in the Autumn and Spring terms) across Meridian Trust primary schools who wish to take part.
Generous sponsorship from Arm means that entry is completely free for schools, and winners receive fantastic prizes such as Micro:bits, books and notepads.
