At Bar Hill Primary we are committed to supporting families to ensure children regularly attend school and arrive on time.

Reception
Our gate opens for Reception at 8:30am.
Children should have entered the classroom by 8:35 where they will be welcomed by their teacher and support staff.
Registers close at 8:45am. If children arrive after this time they will be marked as late. If children arrive after 9:05am, they will receive an unauthorised mark.

Key Stage One and Key Stage Two
Our school gates open for KS1 and KS2 at 8:35am.
Children in KS1 should be lined up om the playground with their class by 8:40am.
Children in KS2 should have entered their classroom by 8:40am where they will be welcomed by their teacher and support staff.
Registers close at 8:50am. If children arrive after this time they will be marked as late. If children arrive after 9:10am, they will receive an unauthorised mark.

The Attendance Policy followed by Meridian Trust Academies adheres to DfE and LA Guidance, which includes the use of legal action and Penalty Notices (fines currently at a rate of up to £120 per parent, per child; failure to pay may result in court proceedings). 

Term Time Absence Request Form

Term time absence is strongly discouraged, we would always ask for you to speak to our attendance team when considering term time absence.

However, if you need to request it, please ensure you submit this request IN ADVANCE of your child being absent from school.  
We ask for 3 weeks’ notice for admin and discussion.  Decisions will be notified in writing.  You may be asked to supply further information or attend a meeting to discuss your request.
